Point University Athletics Facilities Receive Upgrades
The cities of West Point and Valley are assisting Point University in upgrading athletics facilities this Summer, in preparation for the upcoming academic year. In West Point, the construction of a press box, which overlooks the soccer and lacrosse field, is underway. The University's banners from past championships have also been displayed inside the gym, giving a better sense of "home court" to the student-athletes.
In Valley, the resurfacing of the tennis courts has begun. Located across the street from the Community Center, the tennis complex will be the home of the 2013-2014 men's and women's tennis teams. Also in Valley, construction of a new practice field for the football and lacrosse teams will take place. This will double the practice fields for the growing teams.
Riverside Country Club in Lanett has also been named the home course for the men's and women's golf teams. The 6252-yard course recently partnered with Point Athletics for its inaugural golf tournament
