Point University Men’s Golf Receives Bid to National Championship
WEST POINT, Ga. – After finishing second out of 10 teams at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship, #18-ranked Point University earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship. The Skyhawks return to the tournament after their 2024 appearance, where they tied for 17th place among 29 teams.
Point is led by senior Jacob Joseph, who won the SSAC Individual Championship after firing a 2-under-par overall. After opening with rounds of +3 and +2, he rallied with a 7-under 65 in the final round to pull into a tie for first, then won a playoff to secure the individual title.
The victory earned Joseph first-team all-conference honors. He was followed by junior Jaden Gray who was named to the second team and SSAC Newcomer of the Year Hugo Griesheimer.
The SSAC Championship was the fourth event of the season where the Skyhawks finished within the top two teams, including a first-place outcome at the LTU Spring Break Invitational this past March.
The 74th Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championship takes place May 12-15 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. It will be broadcast live on Urban Edge Network, NAIA Network and the National Golf Network.
