National Championship Baseball Team Honored

The 2010 NCCAA Division II national champion Charger baseball team was honored on campus Monday, giving the Point U community a time to celebrate together since the championship was played after spring classes ended. Players received their championship rings during a celebration with faculty, staff and students.

Rings were presented to each player by Jesse Dyar '06, head coach, who thanked members of the Point U community for their support. Dyar specifically thanked athletic director Alan Wilson, former baseball coach, who "got things started for us."

ACC President Dean Collins '79 congratulated the team and recognized their parents, many of whom were in attendance for the celebration. "These parents put in a lot of hard work to raise these champions," he said.
