Chargers are Baseball Region Champs

For the second consecutive year, the Charger baseball team has won the NCCAA Division II South Region Championship. The region tournament, held in Clearwater, Fla., began for the Chargers on April 29. Atlanta Christian played longtime regional rival Toccoa Falls College, winning by a score of 12-5. Senior K.C. Lorow (Sharpsburg, Ga.), 2010 National Pitcher of the Year, was the game's winning pitcher.

On Saturday, the Chargers took on Clearwater Christian College on the Cougars' home field. Point U defeated Clearwater by a score of 7-1, winning a second region championship. Senior Jacob Moore (McDonough, Ga.) was the winning pitcher.

The team will now travel to Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, looking to defend their 2010 national title. The Division II World Series will kick off with a service day and banquet on May 10, and games will be played from May 11-14.
