Cam Seiwert’s redemption weekend earns him SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 5, 2024) - The Southern States Athletic Conference announced weekly awards for Baseball on Monday, February 5th and Cameron Seiwert was named the SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The Senior from Jacksonville, Florida was ready to make a statement against former AAC Foe in Columbia International University as he started in Game One of the weekend series where he did not disappoint. Seiwert set the tone with a no-hit, shutout win over the Rams where the Skyhawks won 11-0 on Friday, February 2nd on Opening Day. He added seven strikeouts and walked only one batter in the game. Cameron Seiwert is no stranger to having a chip on his shoulder as he feels that he is nowhere near his outing on the mound. As Seiwert takes on his senior year, he looks to prove why he is ready to help contribute to another stellar year with the Point University Baseball program as they are hungry to make a name for themselves in the new conference along with the NAIA. This award is something that Seiwert is humbly grateful for but also knows that there is more that can be done under the leadership of Head Coach John Tyler. This is Cameron Seiwert's first weekly honor.
The Skyhawks will return to the field for a non-conference game against Olivet Nazarene and Johnson University on Friday, February 9th, and Saturday, February 10th at the West Point Baseball field for their home opener.
