Skyhawks Fall Short in Final Home Series

WEST POINT, GA. (April 11&12, 2025) In the last home conference series of the season, the Point University Skyhawks lose the series against the Abraham Baldwin Stallions.

Game 1 (Win 3-2)
Game one was a tense battle from start to finish, with Point University players showcasing resilience and skill. Michael Buckley, Danny Gonzalez, and Rafael Jackson were the key scorers for the Skyhawks, each bringing a run to secure the lead. Zavion Anderson and Arwin Burgos contributed with vital RBIs that bolstered the team's scoring chances.

Clay Smith, the starting pitcher for the Skyhawks, played a crucial role in keeping the Stallions' hitters at bay, contributing significantly to the team's defense.

Game 2 (Loss 2-1)

In a closely contested game, the Point University Skyhawks were narrowly outplayed by the Abraham Baldwin Stallions. Despite the loss, the Skyhawks showcased determination throughout the game, led by starting pitcher Harris Burns.

Abraham Baldwin secured a slender lead early in the game, ultimately clinching the victory against Point. For the Skyhawks, Jayson Dower managed to cross the plate, scoring the team's only run, and Danny Gonzalez contributed with an RBI, keeping the team competitive until the final innings.

Game3 (Loss 7-4)
Despite a promising late-game surge, the Skyhawks could not overcome the early lead established by the Stallions. Offensively, Point University saw key contributions from Zavion Anderson, who scored two runs, and Arwin Burgos, who not only added a run but also drove in two RBIs alongside valuable plays from Chris Mancill and Jaden Mazzaferro.

The game featured intense moments, particularly in the 4th and 9th innings, where the Skyhawks narrowed the gap significantly, though not enough.

After the game, 18 Seniors were recognized with a wonderful showing from family and loved ones to honor and celebrate their time at Point University.
