Skyhawks End 2026 Schedule with Doubleheader Split Against Mobile

WEST POINT, Ga. – The Point University Skyhawks honored their senior class on Friday afternoon in a season-ending doubleheader where they prevailed 5-2 and fell 5-3 to the University of Mobile Rams at West Point Park.

Game One (5-2 W):

Mobile started the game shakily, committing two infield errors in the second inning that allowed Josiah Palomino to score the first run of the day. After his 3-for-5 outing in the series opener, the Rams' Adrian Salas continued his productive weekend with an RBI groundout to tie the game in the third.

In that same frame, the Skyhawks erupted with four runs between Bailey Stroud's RBI double and a three-run home run off the bat of Arwin Burgos. The four-hit inning placed the Skyhawks ahead at 5-1.

Reece Buck homered for Mobile at the top of the seventh, but the Rams could not spark a comeback against Daniel Crabtree, who pitched an outstanding complete game. He let up only two runs on three hits in the seven-inning matchup while striking out seven.

Point dominated in the hit column 8-3, recording at least one in each of the first five innings.

Game Two (5-3 L)

The teams set the tone for a seesaw battle, each posting two runs in the second inning. It began with Mobile's Ethan Hilpert pushing across Adrian Salas on a double and Hilpert scoring on a throw down to second base. Point erased the early deficit with Dylan Lindsey coming home on a Josiah Palomino single and Jonathan Kohlman touching home on a wild pitch.

Brady Bye connected for a solo shot that briefly gifted the Skyhawks their first lead of the contest at the home half of the sixth. Mobile came back swinging with a three-run trip to the plate. They walked in a run before Ethan Halpert made it 4-3 Rams on his base hit and Reed Wilson added to that with a sacrifice fly.

Rams pitching played shutdown baseball from there, with Point only being able to muster one hit through the remaining three innings. Lindsey was the Skyhawks' most proficient batter, going 2-for-4 with one run and an RBI. Point's hit total came out to six, with all going against the winning pitcher Alexis Rodriguez Ruiz.
