Point University Welcomes Nigel Lawrence as New Head Football Coach

Point University has officially appointed Nigel Lawrence as the new Head Football Coach for the Skyhawks football team. The announcement marks a significant development in the university’s football program. 

In 2021, Lawrence stepped into his first collegiate coaching role at Point University. Over four seasons as an assistant coach, he became a key figure in player development and was instrumental in building the foundation of one of the top defenses in the conference. His tenure saw the emergence of numerous All-Conference performers, Defensive Players of the Year, and NAIA All-Americans—several of whom have gone on to play professionally both nationally and internationally. 
 
Nigel Lawrence, who brings extensive experience and a promising vision for the team, expressed his enthusiasm about his new role at Point University. "I’m incredibly honored and humbled to accept the position as Head Football Coach at Point University. This is more than just a coaching opportunity—it's a chance to build young men of character, compete with excellence, and uphold the values that make this university special. I’m excited to lead this program forward, both on the field and in the classroom," said Lawrence in a statement regarding his hiring.
