Skyhawks Named Champions at the LTU Spring Break Invitational
OPELIKA, Ala. — For the first time in their 2025-26 campaign, the Point University Skyhawks men's golf team took first at an event, representing the top team out of 13 at the LTU Spring Break Invitational on Thursday. After starting the final round 13 shots back, the Skyhawks soared ahead by shooting even par and winning by one.
Kyle Davidson finished second in pars with 37, just one behind Midway University's Kobe Ingram. The birdies column was also led by a Skyhawk, with Duncan Howie totaling 14 out of the team's 49. Davidson, Jaden Gray, Jacob Joseph and Hugo Griesheimer each made an eagle.
The Skyhawks controlled with a 3.38 average in Par 3s, a 4.15 in Par 4s and a 4.63 in Par 5s. Point had a score of 293 in both the first and second round before posting a 288 in round three. That brought them to 874 at the invitational's conclusion.
Next, Point will partake in The SCAD Cup at Heron Bay GC on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17.
