Feeley Named AAC Co-Coach of the Year

ATHENS, Tenn. - Point University first-year coach Sean Feeley has been named the 2016 AAC Men's Lacrosse Co-Coach of the Year, the conference announced Saturday afternoon. Pete Campbell of the University of the Cumberlands was also named Co-Coach of the Year.

Feeley receives this prestigious honor after leading the Skyawks to a 5-7 record this season with a 2-4 mark in the AAC. Point set several program records this season, including most conference wins in a season and most goals scored in a season (151). The team's .417 winning percentage is highest in the program's four-year history and their five wins is tied for the most in a single season.

The Skyhawks also recorded the first shutout in program history when they beat Dalton State 24-0 on Feb. 13., and their 18-15 win over Oglethorpe University on Feb. 16 was the first in program history over an NCAA opponent.

"Although I believe Pete, at the Cumberlands, should have won this award outright for an outstanding season with a first year program and an all freshman team, I feel extremely honored to receive this award," said Coach Feeley. "Thank you to the administration at Point for all the help and support this season, and thank you to all of my players for competing tough all season."
