Men’s Soccer halted by #2 Dalton State on the road

DALTON, Ga. (Sept. 27, 2024) - The Point University Men's Soccer team returned to the pitch for an evening Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against #2 Dalton State College where the Skyhawks fell to the Roadrunners with a final score of 3-0. 

In the first two minutes, the Roadrunners opened to add early pressure to the Skyhawks. Dalton State's offense continued to spring ahead with their second goal through the following eight minutes. Point's offense formulated only one shot through the first half as the Skyhawks trailed 2-0 at the half. The Skyhawks looked to regroup in the second half but their momentum would be halted by the roadrunners. Dalton State finished the match with one more goal in the second half, keeping Point scoreless.

Dalton State outshot Point with 17 total shots with nine on goal compared to Point's one shot. In goal, Simon Niksch finished with six saves.
