Point University Women's Basketball Clinch Exciting Victory Over Middle Georgia Knights

WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 15th, 2025) - In an action-packed Women's Basketball conference game, the Point University Skyhawks delivered a stunning performance to secure a narrow victory against the Middle Georgia State Knights with a final score of 71-69. 
 
From the start, Point University demonstrated strong gameplay, grabbing an early lead with a layup by Jada Williams and a significant three-pointer by Antonia Pittman. The first period concluded with the Skyhawks leading 18-16, but the momentum shifted in the second period as the Knights surged ahead to lead 41-29 at halftime. 
 
The second half saw an impressive turnaround by the Skyhawks, spearheaded by key players Antonia Pittman, who ended the game with a whopping 33 points and 9 rebounds, and Jada Williams, who contributed 16 points, 8 rebounds, and led with 4 assists. The duo's critical 3-pointers in the third period brought the Skyhawks back into contention, setting the stage for a thrilling final quarter. 
 
As the game approached its climax in the fourth period, the intensity escalated. Jada Williams scored a crucial layup, and Sheila Lee tied the game with a skilled layup. The victory was finally sealed by Pittman's pivotal free throws in the last minute, marking a memorable win for the Skyhawks. Additionally, Zaria Johnson added 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks to the team's tally, contributing significantly to the defense and attack.
