Skyhawks Face Setback Against Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs
In a challenging away game at James L. Robb Gymnasium in Athens, Tenn., the Skyhawks faced off against the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan, suffering a tough 75-56 loss.
To start the second period, the Skyhawks started strong with back-to-back 3-pointers from Azziza Flowers and Zariah Fannin. As the Skyhawks kept chipping away from the deficit, they pulled within 6 of the Bulldogs with 6:30 left in the half on a mid-range jumper from Zaria Johnson that brought the score to 24-18. Fannin led the 20-point quarter by the Skyhawks with 13 points, bringing the halftime score to 43-28 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs maintained their distance in the second half, outscoring the Skyhawks 32-28. Zariah Fannin, alongside Zaria Johnson and Azziza Flowers, led the scoring efforts for Point with 21, 14, and 8 points, respectively.
The Skyhawks now turn their attention forward to Columbia College on Saturday for game two of their four-game road stretch. The game is set for a 2:30 p.m. ET tip-off.
