Women’s Basketball Turns the Page to SSAC Play at Life University
The Skyhawks begin SSAC play on Thursday, November 20th when they head North on I-85 to Marietta, GA to take on the Eagles of Life University. Point enters league play battle-tested after a tough non-conference slate to begin the season.
Senior forward Zaria Johnson has been the anchor on both ends, leading Point with 13.0 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game, setting the tone with her efficiency and physicality in the paint. Junior guard Zariah Fannin has added 9.2 points per game, emerging as a confident perimeter scorer and a steady presence in the backcourt.
Behind them, players like Imani Dennard, Madison Nesbit, and Azziza Flowers have provided depth and scoring balance, while the Skyhawks as a whole have been strong on the boards—averaging 40.8 rebounds per game, a number that has kept them in games even when shots aren't falling.
Life University is off to a 4-1 start to thier 2025-26 season with wins over Keiser, Embry-Riddle, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Xavier (LA). Their lone loss of the year to this point was against Freed-Hardeman. The Eagles are led by sophomore guard Aniyah Offutt who is averaging 13.2 PPG while shooting 41.8% from the floor. She is also averaging 2.4 steals per game.
History: The Skyhawks are 0-4 vs the Eagles since joining the SSAC in 2023-24 with all but one of those losses being in single digit fashion.
