Slow Start Too Much To Overcome In Loss To Tornadoes

TALLADEGA, Ala. - -  Host Talladega opened up a 15-point lead after a quarter of play and the Tornadoes never looked back en route to an 83-43 women's basketball victory over Point Monday afternoon.

Talladega forced 32 turnovers which led to 29 points in the win as Ceara Myers 13 points led a group of six Tornadoes who tallied at least nine points in the win.

The lead swelled to 49-22 at intermission as the Skyhawks were unable to slow down the Tornadoes. Point attempted just two foul shots and allowed Talladega to shoot 54.1 percent from the floor.

Carmen Bridges scored a game-high 21 points as she drilled a trio of 3-point baskets in defeat.

Twelve Tornadoes scored in the triumph as Talladega received 48 points from its reserves.

Next up, Point entertains Thomas Thursday in a 5:30 p.m. tip.
