Crusaders Too Strong For Skyhawks

Hattiesburg, Miss. - -  Point's women's basketball team suffered an 86-36 loss at William Carrey Saturday afternoon. Zariah Fannin led the Skyhawks with 12 points, but the team was unable to overcome a balanced attack that saw 11 Crusaders score.

William Carrey jumped out early and never looked back as the hosts led 21-7 after a quarter of play. The Crusaders extended the lead to 42-17 by intermission behind four second period 3-point baskets.

Fannin made two shots from distance in the third quarter but, William Carrey still extended its lead thanks to a 9-for-15 shooting effort. The Crusaders would hold the Skyhawks to just one made field goal in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten on the season at 18-0.

Shaneal Corpuz led the way for the winners with a game-high 20 points with Charlie Gamberine netting 11.

Point will return home Thursday to begin a four-game homestand. Tip time against Blue Mountain Christian is slated for 5:30 p.m.
