Strong Starting Skyhawks Falter In Second Quarter

TIFTON, Ga. - - Abraham Baldwin used a 24-point second quarter to claim a 77-51 women's basketball win over visiting Point Saturday afternoon. Shakira Chaney scored a game=high 33 points for the Thunder who claimed their sixth win of the season.

Point trailed by a single point at 15-14 after the opening 10 minutes but the second quarter proved to be disastrous for the Skyhawks.

Abraham Baldwin forced eight Point turnovers and limited the visitors to only four points in the period as the hosts took a 21-point lead to intermission.

Reese Riddle tossed in 15 for the winners who placed nine in the scoring column.

Zariah Fannin led Point with 18 points but the Skyhawks shot just 29.2 percent from the field for the game.
