Season Ends With Loss At Brewton Parker
MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - - Brewton Parker used a 24-point third quarter to claim a 76-62 women's basketball victory over Point in the regular season finale. The winners forced 28 turnovers while placing a quartet of players in double-figure scoring.
Five Skyhawks scored in the opening period as Point trailed by a single point at 14-13 after the opening 10 minutes of play. The visitors would remain close throughout the second quarter as the Barons led 35-30 at intermission before the big third period.
In the third quarter, Jasmine Leynard scored 10 of her 11 points while Brewton Parker shot 54 percent from the floor and forced eight Point turnovers to take command.
Kaziah Terrell (12) and Chasty Degale (10) also had strong scoring nights for the Barons who received a game-high 16 points off the bench from Andrian Stewart.
Zariah Fannin tied for game-high scoring honors with 16 points while Aniyah Wesley (14), Azziza Flowers (13) and Carmen Bridges (13) also netted double figures in the season finale.
The win improved Brewton Parker to 7-20 on the year and 6-10 in league play while Point finished the campaign 0-24 and 0-16 in conference action.
