Skyhawks Fall In Straight Sets at Home
WEST POINT, Ga. — October 17, 2025 — Point University volleyball dropped a home match Friday evening to Loyola (La.) in straight sets, 9–25, 16–25, 17–25. With the loss, the Skyhawks move to 15–14 overall on the season.
Junior middle hitter Tianna Kynard led the Point offense with six kills while hitting .333. Setter Paige Lowe tallied nine assists to go along with three kills and a service ace, while Claire Cordell contributed four kills and three digs.
Defensively, libero Alayna Helmer anchored the back row with eight digs. Jasmyn Caesar and Ava Clay each added four digs, with Clay also recording a block assist. Danielle Coker provided two kills and one block assist to round out the Skyhawks' effort at the net.
After a tough opening set, Point battled back with improved rhythm in the second and third frames, led by Kynard and Cordell's consistency on the attack. Despite the loss, the Skyhawks continued to show composure and competitive energy throughout the match. As a team, Point posted 19 kills, 14 assists, and 24 digs.
Point University (15–14) returns to action Saturday, October 18, hosting William Carey University in West Point at 1 p.m.
