Bio

Brent McCoy was brought on by Point University to be the head coach of the Skyhawks volleyball team in May 2025. The program saw success in its first season with Brent leading the charge, including a 24-17 overall record and a semifinal finish at the Southern States Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship.

Since 2004, McCoy has served as head coach at the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity levels, where he established and led programs for both the Corinth School District and Orange Beach Middle & High Schools. Under his leadership, his teams consistently excelled, earning multiple postseason appearances and tournament championships.

In addition to his high school success, McCoy has extensive experience in the club circuit. He currently coaches with 85 South Volleyball Club out of LaGrange, GA.

He has three children: Lucy 19, Eleanor 17, and Silas 12 who reside in Opelika, AL.

Coach McCoy is known for developing disciplined, team-oriented athletes and cultivating a culture of excellence both on and off the court. He is excited to bring that same energy and vision to Point University as he leads the Skyhawks into a new era of competition, and leading them to be well-rounded in all facets of life.
