Point University Football Adds All-Conference Honors to their storied Program

WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 21, 2024)—The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced Postseason honors, with the Point University Football team receiving All-Conference honors, All-Academic honors, and Champions of Character awards.  

First Team All-Conference: Nicholas Marien 

The Graduate Senior from Hamilton, Georgia was a key piece to the Offensive firepower for Point Football's offense. Marien's mixture of speed and strength makes it a nightmare to cover for an opposing secondary. Marien finished 27 catches for 281 yards and four touchdowns. Marien showed deep-threat ability by adding a 40-yard touchdown as his longest catch of the year. Nicholas Marien believes that no matter who is guarding him, he will get open or come down with the ball. Marien's experience was a major factor in Point having over 2,000 passing yards in the air. Nicholas Marien now adds his second consecutive First Team All-Conference honor. 

First Team All-Conference: Quintravious Teasley 

The Junior from Elberton, Georgia made a big splash on the season as the big playmaker that opposing defenses had to worry about. Teasley had his best season in a Skyhawk uniform as he led the team with 61 catches for 976 yards with 10 touchdowns. Wide Receivers Coach, Roman Jones knew at Fall Camp how special Teasley would be on the season and continued to instill confidence in his play. QT Teasley was a player who could a bubble screen to a house call with his lightning speed and ways to avoid tacklers. Teasley's confidence was motivated as he knew how good he could be. Teasley has now added a career-high season and an all-conference honor. 

First Team All-Conference: Cortez Thomas 

The Junior from Cordele, Georgia has proved that he is a force to be reckoned with as he was a threat for opposing offensive linemen. Thomas added 51 tackles, 10 sacks, 25.0 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two pass breakups. Cortez Thomas is a player who is all smiles off the field with a lot of charisma but on the field, he handles business and makes opposing offenses run away from him. Thomas adds his second consecutive First Team All-Conference honors in his career. With the numbers from Cortez Thomas, do not be surprised if he is being put in All-American nods.  

First Team All-Conference: Promise Williams 

The Senior from Norcross, Georgia waited for his moment as he stared at the action on the sidelines during the 2023-24 season. Williams had to miss action due to a lingering injury which required surgery. Through his process of recovery, his motivation was to return to what he did best by making it tough on opponents. Williams returned to the lineup in the 2024-25 season and proved he did not miss a beat. Promise Williams had his best season at Point as he added 32 tackles, 3.0 sacks, eight tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery. Promise Williams proved to be the defensive leader that Coach Ken Lucky could depend on. Williams now ends his football career at Point with an amazing story from sitting a season out to returning as a First Team All-Conference Player. 

First Team All-Conference: Kemorion Larkin 

The Senior from Cordelle, Georgia has added his name to the conversation again for First Team All-Conference honors to add a third career All-Conference award to his name. Key Larkin added 90 tackles, three sacks, nine tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup, and two interceptions. Larkin's role on the Skyhawk defense this season showed more of his versatility to be an all-around player who can be a run-stopper, a player who can get to the quarterback, and a great coverage player. Larkin managed to finish the season after powering through an injury that slowed him down for a week but was able to return to the lineup to help the Skyhawks make magic on the field. Key Larkin's career has seen much growth each year and he proved that he was not scared of the bright lights. With the versatility of Larkin, there will not be any surprises if Larkin is to get a nod for more awards. 

First Team All-Conference and Champions of Character: Caleb Wade 

The Junior from Mt. Airy, Georgia has continued to see constant growth through his career as Caleb Wade adds his second consecutive All-Conference honor. Wade's numbers popped with 62 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one sack, seven pass breakups, and three interceptions. Wade also garnered a signature with his interceptions as his efforts to stretch out for interceptions garnered him the name of "Superman". Caleb Wade is a player who is considered one of if not the best defensive backs in the AAC and off the field his character is impressive enough to add a Champions of Character honor. For Caleb Wade, he feels there is much more to prove in his career and he is looking to stamp his name as one of the greatest defensive backs in the NAIA. 

Second Team All-Conference: Riley McLeod 

The Sophomore from Opelika, Alabama proved to be another example of a player for Point University Football making the big sophomore splash. McLeod's presence on the field proved to make trouble for defensive linemen as he helped keep Mitchell Gossett safe in the pocket and open holes for the running game. Riley McLeod's spirit and toughness were recognized by coaches throughout the AAC as he has become well-respected by not giving up on each play. Riley McLeod looks to return to the Skyhawks with more to prove and continue to build his resume which continues to stack each year. 

Second Team All-Conference: Sammy Williams 

All-Conference adds a big hello to Sammy Williams as the Redshirt Sophomore adds his first award to his resume. Williams was kept out of action during the 2023-24 season due to a knee injury but Williams' love for the game kept his hunger to add experience upfront. Sammy Williams is a well-respected student-athlete who has won Mr. Skyhawk, been on the Homecoming Court, and added an All-Conference honor to prove that he is not just a voice that talks about what he does. The Offensive Lineman from Newnan, Georgia adds much personality to the offense but also adds speed and discipline that makes everyone around him want to be better. Sammy Williams looks to continue to prove that his will to win is something that can help the program. 

Second Team All-Conference: Shawn Jones Jr. 

The Freshman from Opelika, Alabama proved to adjust quickly as a newcomer that was ready to make plays. Jones' lightning speed complimented his ability to get open for long bombs that turned into touchdowns. Shawn Jones Jr.'s home debut displayed with a 92-yard touchdown. Jones added 13 receptions for 302 yards and three touchdowns. Jones looks to continue his career at Point University while improving each time he steps on the field. For Shawn Jones Jr., it will be exciting to see him continue to prove why he is on the right track to be another big playmaker on the offensive end.  

Second Team All-Conference: Adam Sanders 

The Senior from Ragland, Alabama returned from injury and made waves for the Skyhawk Offense to add two touchdowns. Sanders also proved to be a player in the backfield who could make catches that turned into big gains adding 70 receiving yards. Sanders' veteran experience displayed his field vision to hit the hole and find ways to keep the Skyhawk offense on the field. Adam Sanders had his best game of the season against NCAA Division I, Davidson College where he added nine rushes for 85 yards with his longest rush being 44 yards. Adam Sanders can now end his Skyhawk career with an amazing story of returning from injury to being an All-Conference player. 

Second Team All-Conference: Logan Wandzilak 

The Freshman from St. Augustine, Florida experienced a year of being in many big moments and helping the team score points. Wandzilak went 8-for-11 on Field Goals at a 73% rate his longest being 39 yards. Wandzilak followed by going 16-for-23 on extra points with a 70% rate. Logan Wandzilak etched his name in Point University history with giving Skyhawk Nation the most memorable Homecoming when he converted a walk-off Game Winner against the University of Pikeville. Following the big moment, Wandzilak's field goal also caught national attention as he was featured on the NAIA Top Five Plays of the Week. Logan Wandzilak will look to go back to work in the offseason to prepare for another year and take a big leap as one of the best in the AAC.  

Second Team All-Conference: Ethan Binns 

The awards continue to build on the resume of the Junior from Montgomery, Alabama. Already being named as Defensive Player of the Week, Ethan Binns adds his second consecutive All-Conference award in his career. Binns led the team in tackles with 98 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup. Binns continues to work hard in every aspect of the game and improves his play each year. The 2024-25 season was Binns' best year statistically as he jumped from 55 to 98 tackles in one year. As Ethan Binns prepares for offseason training, he will step on the field as a Senior in the following season as a player that every opponent should be on the lookout for.  

Second Team All-Conference: Kere Thomas 

The Senior from Chalkville, Alabama proved to be the Cornerback who many teams began to be afraid to throw to. Thomas has shown his versatility as a player who can guard the team's best receivers and lock it down. Thomas added nine tackles, one interception, and seven pass breakups and his impact on the field helped the Skyhawks win games. Thomas had a big moment when he added a game-winning interception in the game against the University of Pikeville where his clutch genes helped the Skyhawks set up the game-winning drive. Thomas' focus on the field proves that his plan to be the best coverage guy in the conference and now can add all-conference honors to his resume. 

Second Team All-Conference: Matthew Moses  

The Junior from McDonough, Georgia has continued to have a legendary career at Point University where Moses added 63 punts for 2,412 yards, 16 punts inside the 20, and two touchbacks. Moses' fun spirit mixed with his competitive ways to help Point's defense with great field positioning is something that helps the Skyhawks be better each game. Matthew Moses can add Player of the Week awards to his already stacked resume and now follow with an All-Conference honor.
