Skyhawks Fall at Faulkner

Montgomery, Ala. - The Point University Skyhawks encountered a tough matchup in their 2025 season opener against the Faulkner (AL) Eagles on August 28 at Billy Hilyer Stadium in Montgomery, Ala., under cloudy skies with light rain conditions. The game concluded with the Skyhawks trailing, ending with a final score of Faulkner 28, Point 8.

During the first half of the game, the Skyhawks struggled to find their rhythm, culminating in a halftime score of Faulkner 13, Point 3. Point's minimal points came from the boot of Harold Maloof, who successfully landed a field goal. The Skyhawks kept it close, trailing 13-3 at halftime. Transitioning into the second half, Point's defense stepped up and made key plays that kept Faulkner from the endzone. Notably, in the opening minutes of the second half, Point blocked a punt for a safety, making it 5-13. Though the Skyhawks attempted a comeback, the defense wore down, allowing Faulkner to score late. Harold Maloof again contributed to the scoreboard with another field goal from 27 yards out. Quintravious Teasley also made key plays with two kickoff returns that together amassed 32 yards, showing sparks of potential amidst a challenging game.

As the Skyhawks regroup from their opening loss, they currently stand at a 0-1 record. They are scheduled to face LaGrange College next on September 6, in Valley, Ala. The team will be looking forward to this upcoming game as a critical opportunity to improve their standing early in the season in front of their home crowd.
