Life University Hustles Past Skyhawks 25-6

WEST POINT, Ga. – In a crucial SUN Conference matchup on Thursday afternoon, the Point University Skyhawks couldn't mount a fourth quarter comeback in their loss to the Life University Running Eagles at River Bowl Stadium.

Down 12-0 after a scoreless third, Kenzie Phillian got the Skyhawks on the board with a touchdown on the fourth quarter's opening play. Quarterback Corriah Williams couldn't convert on the point after, and the Running Eagles added insurance with Dechea Branham and Altierra Gooch crossing the goal line.

Life carried that 12-0 lead into the half. They got there by way of an Elora Niederpruem 18-yard reception in the first before Cheyenne Brooks dashed into the endzone for eight yards.

Williams was responsible for all the passing for Point, completing 32 of her 52 attempts. Her efforts were good for 233 yards in the air. Aniyah Wesley was her most frequent target, who tallied 11 catches for a team-high 88 yards. Phillian and Leah Prather matched each other's seven receptions.

Zykierria Williams was the Skyhawks' defensive leader with five tackles, all being solo. Point was unable to find any interceptions against the Running Eagles offense, led by Cheyenne Brooks who was 16-28 in passing. Branham passed three times, finding a receiver on the other end on each of them.

The Skyhawks celebrate their Senior Night this Saturday, April 4 at 5:00pm against Snead State Community College. Those players will be honored just prior to the game at River Bowl Stadium.
