Point Meets Kennesaw State in DI Exhibition

KENNESAW, Ga. – Three players tallied double-digits for the Point University men's basketball team in a 111-60 exhibition loss to NCAA Division I Kennesaw State University this evening. Robert Harris finished the contest with a team-high 17 points to pace all Skyhawks. It was the Skyhawks first meeting against the Owls since 2001. 

The Owls leaped out to an 8-0 lead the first minute and a half to start the game. Point got on the board when Kaden Paul hit a pull-up jumper to make it 8-2. KSU used a 12-4 run to push its
lead to 20-6 with 13:16 remaining in the half. The Skyhawks clawed their way back into the game to cut the lead to twelve and trail 28-16 with just over ten minutes to go. Both teams
traded baskets for the next five minutes with the Owls holding a 38-29 lead. KSU edged Point out for the remainder of the half with a 14-13 run to take a 52-36 lead into the locker room.

Coming out of halftime, Cahlib Edwards scored the first points for the Skyhawks with a pull-up jumper 25 seconds in. KSU pushed its lead to 74-43 using a 23-9 run with 12:20 left in the game.
Point attempted to work its way back into the contest, but the lead was too great to overcome as the Owls went on to an 111-60 win.

Harris, who was the team's leader in points, also finished with a team-high four three-pointers, while tying for first in rebounds with five. Teammates Kenton Steele and Paul each tallied five
boards.

Steele finished with 11 points while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.

Edwards finished the night off with 12 points of his own, with six (6-for-8) of them coming from the line. He registered two of the team's four steals in the process.

Point (3-1) is back in action on Thursday, November 20 th , when it travels to Marietta to face conference foe Life University at 7:30 p.m.
