Point Men’s Soccer Defeated by the Night Hawks

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 9th, 2024) - Point University returned to the River Bowl Stadium for a Southern States Athletic Conference fight against Thomas University. The Skyhawks started off strong but ultimately fell to the Night Hawks with a final score of 3-1. 

Point's offense started hot with multiple shots on the frame leading up to a goal made by Tommy Eskew within the first 12 minutes of the game. Point's goalie, Callum Thompson, put up a good defense against the Night Hawks with three saves in the first half. 

During the second half, play started intensely, with Thomas stepping up their game. The Skyhawks pushed to defend the goal, but Thomas eventually came out on top with three goals in the second half. Thomas gained traction and ended the game with a final score of 3-0. 

 

In the Box:

Thomas University had 21 total shots and 12 on goal, while Point University took 14 total shots and five on goal. Tommy Eskew made one goal at the beginning of the first half. Point goalies Callum Thompson had six saves, and John White had three saves.
