Havoc Race Past Skyhawks

NEW ORLEANS – Loyola shot a blistering 55.7 percent from the field en route to a 94-30 women's basketball victory over Point Thursday. The victorious Havoc placed four women in double-figure scoring as the hosts connected on nine shots from beyond the arc.

The Skyhawks made just 10-of-46 field goal attempts in the game and reached double figures as team in only one quarter. Loyola took advantage of the off-shooting night and built a 52-14 lead at halftime.

Carmen Bridges was the lone Point player to crack double digit scoring as she tallied 12 points while adding six rebounds. Loyola also used ball pressure to slow down the visitor's offense as the Havoc forced 31 turnovers.

Alissa O'Dell (14), Deniya Thornton (14), Madi Walters (13) and Caitlin Travis (12) led a balanced scoring effort for a Loyola squad that improved to 15-2 on the season.

The Skyhawks will be back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday when the club visits William Carey (Miss.)
