Women's Volleyball Earn All-Conference Honors

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Point University women's volleyball team had five players garner Southern States Athletic Conference postseason awards. Paige Lowe and Tianna Kynard were named First Team All-Conference, while Jasmyn Ceasar earned Second Team honors. Freshman Danielle Coker was named to the All-Freshmen Team, and Ava Clay notched Champion of Character Team honors.

The Skyhawks had nine players named to the Athletic Solutions All-Academic Team, which recognizes scholastic achievement. Those athletes were: Lexi Arter, Emily Calhoun, Amber Cockrell, Claire Cordell, Kristina Faison, Elissa Robison, Ceasar, Clay, and Lowe.

Kynard played in 38 matches while finishing with a team-high 373 kills and 154 against conference opponents this season to earn First Team honors. She led the conference in kills, while her .307 hitting percentage was third best in SSAC and first on the team. The junior had 18 matches in which she tallied at least 10 kills, with a season-best 20 on Oct. 10 against Tennessee Southern.

Lowe, who joined Kynard on the First Team, led the SSAC in assists with 1,194, including 457 in conference play, while averaging 8.53 assists per set throughout the season. The senior appeared in 52 SSAC sets, tying for first on the Skyhawks. She finished with a season-high 51 helpers against Mobile on Oct. 31, breaking her previous season-high of 50 set on Oct. 10 versus Tennessee Southern.

Caesar, who was named to the Second Team, was second on the Skyhawks with 328 kills, with 112 against conference foes. She was second in the SSAC in overall total kills and in overall total attacks with 980. She finished third on the Skyhawks in aces with 41. The junior registered 17 matches with at least 10 kills while tallying a season-high 19 on Aug. 26 at Reinhardt.

Coker was one of seven to earn All-Freshman Team honors. The middle blocker was third on the team in kills with 192. Her .246 hitting percentage was third on the team and best among SSAC freshmen.
