Skyhawks Look to Regroup Against Life

Mobile, Ala. - The Skyhawks competed in a tri-match at the University of Mobile. The first game was against the host school and the second game was against Xavier. 

 

Game 1 vs. Mobile 

Point University Skyhawks faced the Mobile Rams on September 27, 2025, at the University of Mobile, ending in a challenging set of games for the Skyhawks. The Rams secured a win with a final score of Mobile 3, Point 0 in this regular season matchup.

The first set proved competitive, though the Rams took the lead early, closing it at 25-17. The Skyhawks' attempts to realign their strategy in the second set saw a slight improvement in their performance, ending with a score of 25-19 in favor of Mobile. The intensity peaked in the third set, showcasing both teams' determination, ending in a nail-biting 29-27 finish for Mobile.

Highlighting Point's efforts, Jasmyn Ceasar led with a remarkable 12 kills, supported by Tianna Kynard with 11 kills and 4 blocks, making significant contributions to the team's defensive and offensive plays. Paige Lowe and Elissa Robison facilitated the team's play, with Lowe delivering 10 assists and Robison serving 2 crucial aces.

Despite the loss, the Skyhawks displayed commendable defensive plays, with Keeley Williams standing out with 9 digs, followed by Claire Cordell contributing 7 digs, reflecting a resilient defense against the relentless attacks by the Rams.

 

 

 

Game 2 vs. Xavier 

The Point University Skyhawks encountered a tough competition in their recent college volleyball game against Xavier (LA), ending with a defeat in a straight three sets on September 27, 2025, in Mobile, Ala. The Skyhawks, represented by the Woman's team, fought valiantly but couldn't overpower Xavier's team.

The first set was intensely competitive, with both teams showing strong performances. The Skyhawks narrowly missed the win, ending the set with a score of 24-26. Tensions were high as each team battled for every point, demonstrating the match's high stakes and competitive spirit.

In the subsequent sets, Xavier (LA) established dominance, winning the second and third sets with identical scores of 25-15. The Skyhawks struggled to regain their footing against Xavier's consistent offensive and defensive plays.

Key contributors for the Skyhawks were Elissa Robison and Jasmyn Ceasar, who each recorded aces during the game, showcasing their skills under pressure. Despite their efforts, the Skyhawks now stand at 13 wins and 11 losses for the season, with a conference record of 1-5. The team looks to rebound in upcoming matches, hoping to improve their standings and showcase the resilience characteristic of Point's sports program.


Looking ahead, the Skyhawks are set to regroup and face Life University on October 31, 2025, in West Point, Ga. They currently hold a season record of 13-11, positioning them in a decent place to make strategic adjustments before their next game.
