Skyhawks Split Saturday Tri-Match

Game 1 vs. Milligan University

In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Point University Skyhawks Women's Volleyball team clinched a decisive victory against the Milligan Buffs on September 20, 2025. The match, held at the Graham Center in Knoxville, Tenn., ended with the Skyhawks winning three sets to none against their opponents.

During the first set, the Skyhawks dominated, concluding with a commanding score of 25-11. Moving into the second set, Milligan put up a tougher fight, but Point University maintained control, securing the set 25-21. The intensity peaked in the third set with both teams battling fiercely, pushing the game into extended points. Point University displayed resilience, ultimately winning the set 30-28 and sealing the match.

Contributions were significant from multiple players. Danielle Coker led the team with 12 kills followed by Kayla Johnson who contributed 11 kills. Paige Lowe also played a crucial role with 6 kills and a remarkable 33 assists, showcasing her versatility and strategic play. The game also saw impressive serving, with Claire Cordell achieving 3 aces and both Paige Lowe and Jasmyn Ceasar each adding 2 more to the team's tally. With this win, the Skyhawks improve their current season record to 13 wins and 7 losses.

 

Game 2 vs. Johnson University

In a closely contested volleyball clash on September 20, 2025, the Point University Skyhawks faced off against the Johnson (TN) Royals at the Graham Center in Knoxville, Tenn. Despite a strong start, the Skyhawks were ultimately edged out by the Royals, concluding the match with a 2-3 set defeat.

The Skyhawks commanded the court in the first set, securing a commanding 25-16 victory. They maintained their momentum into the second set, pulling off a narrow 27-25 win after a tense battle. However, the Royals rebounded in the third set, answering back with a 25-20 win as they began to turn the tide. The fourth set saw Johnson (TN) dominate, taking it comfortably with a scoreline of 25-12. In the decisive fifth set, both teams fought hard, but Johnson (TN) managed to clinch the win with a 15-12 score.

Key performances from the Skyhawks included Jasmyn Ceasar, who led with 14 kills, closely followed by teammates Prycelyss Purdie and Tianna Kynard, each contributing 10 kills to their team's efforts.

The team looks forward to their next challenge against Faulkner on September 26, 2025, in Montgomery, Ala.
