Point Draws with Reinhardt in Friday Night Thriller

Waleska, GA – The Point University men's soccer team played to a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Reinhardt University on Friday night. 

Reinhardt struck first just 1:36 into the match when John Simmons found the back of the net unassisted. Point wasted no time responding, as Joao Tiago Sousa netted the equalizer less than a minute later at the 2:21 mark, capitalizing on a setup from Danny Juarez. The Skyhawks took the lead in the 31st minute with a brilliant individual effort from Diogo Palhoto, who gave Point a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime. Point held the lead deep into the second half, but Reinhardt leveled the match in the 89th minute when Dylan Griggs scored off an assist from Alexander Itov. With the draw, Point moves to 0-0-1 on the season. The Skyhawks return to action on Monday, August 25, at Talladega College. Kickoff is set for 4:30 PM.
